Director of Admission and Financial Aid
Alexandria Country Day School, a non-sectarian, K-8, independent school in Alexandria, Virginia, serving approximately 220 students, seeks an experienced professional to serve as its next Director of Admission & Financial Aid.
The Director of Admission & Financial Aid serves as part of the Advancement team and is responsible for recruiting a diverse and talented population of students. The Director represents the School’s educational program to prospective students and parents, builds relationships with sending schools and educational consultants, stewards prospective families through the application and admission process, manages the selection process, and administers financial aid. A key member of the administrative team, the Director of Admission & Financial Aid works closely with the Director of Advancement and the Head of School to set and pursue school-wide strategies around enrollment and marketing. The Director also supervises and works collaboratively with a full-time Admission Associate.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree, three or more years of admission or related experience in an independent school or college setting, and excellent written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will be highly organized and detail oriented, and have strong interpersonal skills.

Aftercare Assistant
Alexandria Country Day School is seeking a part-time Aftercare Assistant to begin immediately. The assistant will supervise students who remain at school between 3:00 and 6:00 pm each day. The assistant will work collaboratively with the Aftercare Director to provide a safe, fun, and healthy environment that includes both indoor and outdoor play. Qualified candidates will have experience working with groups of children in an organized environment. The school seeks candidates who have a good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group.

Substitute Teachers
Alexandria Country Day School is currently recruiting substitute teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. This position is on-call and as needed. Qualified candidates must be enthusiastic, team players and have an appreciation of the unique qualities of the Kindergarten through 8th grade age group. A Bachelor’s degree and criminal background check are required. A background in education and classroom experience is preferred.
