Seventh and Eighth Grade Science Teacher

Alexandria Country Day School is seeking a full time middle school science teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  This role also serves as a seventh-grade advisor. Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in classroom teaching and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. Experience with HMH Into Science and Next Generation Science Standards is beneficial. The school seeks growth-minded candidates who are skilled, creative, innovative and adept at employing technology in the classroom. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential.

Kindergarten Instructional Assistant

The Alexandria Country Day School is seeking a full-time Kindergarten Instructional Assistant for the 2025-2026 school year. The Kindergarten Instructional Assistant will work collaboratively with the lead classroom teacher to assist with whole and small group instruction, classroom preparation, and other tasks as directed. Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience and/or training working in a lower school classroom. The school seeks candidates who are skilled, creative, innovative, and adept at employing technology in the classroom. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential.

K-8 Drama Teacher

Alexandria Country Day School is seeking a full time Kindergarten through eighth grade drama teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in classroom teaching and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. A passion for theater education and the ability to inspire young performers of all ages and experience levels is essential. This position includes teaching drama classes to students in grades K-8, directing school performances for students in grades 4-8, and collaborating with colleagues on community-wide performance events. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential.

Substitute Teachers

Alexandria Country Day School is currently recruiting substitute teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. This position is on-call and as needed. Qualified candidates must be enthusiastic, team players and have an appreciation of the unique qualities of the Kindergarten through 8th grade age group. A Bachelor’s degree and criminal background check are required. A background in education and classroom experience is preferred.
