K-5th Grade Spanish Teacher

Alexandria Country Day School is seeking a full-time Spanish teacher for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade for the 2019-2020 school year. Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in classroom teaching and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, teaching, or a related field. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred. A belief in and experience with Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) and Comprehensible Input (CI) instructional methodology is beneficial. Proficiency in differentiating instruction for a broad range of abilities is essential. The school seeks growth-minded candidates who are skilled, creative, innovative and adept at employing technology in the classroom. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential.

6th & 7th Grades Language Arts Long-term Sub

Alexandria Country Day School is looking for a dynamic, experienced, and collaborative middle school language arts teacher to serve as a full-time, long-term substitute for 6th and 7th grade language arts from October through December 2019.

Qualified candidates will possess at least three years of experience in classroom teaching and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. The school seeks candidates who are skilled, creative, and adept at employing technology in the classroom. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential.

Learning Specialist

Alexandria Country Day School is seeking a full-time learning specialist for the 2019-2020 school year.  The learning specialist will work collaboratively with the Heads of Lower and Middle School, as well as one other learning specialist, to support students.  Qualified candidates will possess 3-5 years of experience in classroom teaching and a Masters degree in learning disabilities or a related field. Experience with Reading and Writing Workshop, Word Study, and Singapore Math is beneficial.  The school seeks candidates who are skilled, creative, innovative, and adept at employing technology in the classroom. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential.

Substitute Teachers

Alexandria Country Day School is currently recruiting substitute teachers for the current school year. This position is on-call and as needed.

Qualified candidates must be enthusiastic, team players and have an appreciation of the unique qualities of the Kindergarten through 8th grade age group. A Bachelor’s degree and criminal background check are required. A background in education and classroom experience is preferred.
