Kindergarten Teacher
Alexandria Country Day School is seeking a kindergarten classroom teacher for the 2024-25 school year. Qualified candidates will possess 3-5 years of experience in classroom teaching and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. Experience with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Workshop program, Wilson Fundations, and Singapore Math is beneficial. The school seeks growth-minded candidates who are skilled, creative, innovative, and adept at employing technology in the classroom. Effective writing and speaking skills, a good sense of humor, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential. A collaborative nature and a commitment to teamwork are critical skills for this position, as the kindergarten teacher works closely with a full-time instructional assistant. This position takes an active role in the admissions process, where strong speaking skills and a positive demeanor are vital.

Lower School Technology Integrationist and Support Specialist
Alexandria Country Day School is seeking a Lower School Technology Integrationist and Support Specialist for the 2024-25 school year. The Lower School Technology Integration and Support Specialist works with students and teachers in grades K-4 to improve teaching and learning with technology. This will include teaching in the innovation lab, modeling and team teaching in the classroom, as well as help desk support and software assistance. The specialist will report to and assist the Director of Technology in all aspects of technology at the school, including two weeks during the summer break. The specialist will also work closely with the Assistant Head and Director of Curriculum and Instruction on curriculum matters. Substitute Teachers
Alexandria Country Day School is currently recruiting substitute teachers for the 2023-2024 school year. This position is on-call and as needed. Substitutes, as well as faculty and students, will be expected to follow physical distancing guidelines and wear masks when in the building.
Qualified candidates must be enthusiastic, team players and have an appreciation of the unique qualities of the Kindergarten through 8th grade age group. A Bachelor’s degree and criminal background check are required. A background in education and classroom experience is preferred.
