Head of Middle School
The Head of School seeks a skilled partner and educational leader to guide the Middle division as we continue to strengthen ACDS by offering effective and innovative programs, nurturing a strong commitment to professional engagement and growth, ensuring a personalized approach to families and students, extending our unique emphasis on communication skills, and fostering a middle school culture that is both joyful and challenging. The next Head of Middle School will join an exceptional administrative team an energized and collaborative middle school faculty, and a close-knit community.
The successful candidate will have at least a Masters Degree in a related field, had significant experience in the classroom and in an academic leadership role, and will demonstrate a deep knowledge of research and practice in middle years teaching and learning. A strong appreciation for diversity of all kinds and skill in meeting the needs of a diverse student population is essential. The School seeks candidates who have strong interpersonal skills, superior written and oral communication skills, a collaborative orientation, excellent organizational and technological skills, a positive outlook, and a good sense of humor.

Director of Admission and Financial Aid
Alexandria Country Day School, a non-sectarian, K-8, independent school in Alexandria, Virginia, serving approximately 185 students, seeks an experienced professional to serve as its next Director of Admission & Financial Aid.
The Director of Admission & Financial Aid serves as part of the Advancement team and is responsible for recruiting a diverse and talented population of students. The Director represents the School’s educational program to prospective students and parents, builds relationships with sending schools and educational consultants, stewards prospective families through the application and admission process, manages the selection process, and administers financial aid. A key member of the administrative team, the Director of Admission & Financial Aid works closely with the Director of Advancement and the Head of School to set and pursue school-wide strategies around enrollment and marketing. The Director also supervises and works collaboratively with a full-time Admission Associate.
Candidates should possess a B.A. degree, three or more years of admission experience in an independent school or college setting, and excellent written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will be highly organized and detail oriented, and have strong interpersonal skills.

Alexandria Country Day School is currently recruiting substitute teachers for the current school year. This position is on-call and as needed.
Qualified candidates must be enthusiastic, team players and have an appreciation of the unique qualities of the Kindergarten through 8th grade age group. A Bachelor’s degree and criminal background check are required. A background in education and classroom experience is preferred.
